Cultural Ambassadors scheme launched to promote the Welsh language and heritage

Today, on St David’s Day, the Minister for Education and Welsh Languages ​​is launching the Cultural Ambassadors Program to promote Welsh language, culture and heritage.

The Cultural Foundation’s mission is to encourage newcomers to communities in Wales to learn more about Wales, the Welsh language and its importance to society, and to provide support for businesses that use and support Welsh Languages. . and work locally to maintain and strengthen guidance and dialogue.

Any person or business can become an ambassador by completing a short interview about the history and current state of the Welsh language. After completing the form on the Welsh Ambassadors website, delegates will receive a certificate, badge, sticker, window and support information pack including translation assistance, free speech for communities, individuals and third parties.

Education and Wales Secretary Jeremy Miles is the first cultural leader. Launching the program today, he said:

– I am very happy to be a cultural ambassador and to start the program on St. David’s Day. St David’s motto is “Do little things” and becoming an Ambassador is a simple and practical way to support and promote the Welsh language, helping people integrate into their new communities, welcoming visitors and raising awareness of our heritage and culture.
